Exporting the Meshes and the Hit Hull

Exporting the meshes

tools/blender/export_vehicle.py in the Creator Kit:

  1. open your .blend in Blender;
  2. in the Scripting workspace open the file and set its first three values:
    python
    ASSETS = r"D:/MyMod/src/main/resources/assets/mymod"
    NAME = "my_coupe"
    TEXTURE_SIZE = 64
  3. run it. Or from the command line:
    bash
    blender my_coupe.blend --background --python export_vehicle.py -- D:/MyMod/src/main/resources/assets/mymod my_coupe 64

It writes meshes/<mesh>.vxmesh.json and geo/<mesh>.geo.json for each collection it finds.

The hit hull

Bullets, arrows and blasts hit the real body shape, from a triangle hull:

bash
python tools/build_vehicle_hull.py <your resources dir> <mod id> <name>

It reads your exported <name> and <name>_front meshes and writes data/<mod id>/vehicle_hulls/<name>.bin. Rebuild it whenever the model changes; --check only checks.
